16 – 19 Years of Age (±2)

IGCSE Certification | AS or A Level Certification

In our High School, learners in Form 1 and Form 2 have the opportunity to obtain their IGCSE Certification. Thereafter, they can complete the Advanced Levels for either AS or A Level Certification. The Cambridge Philosophy encourages Critical Thinking, Confidence, Responsibility, Reflection, Innovation and Engagement. These personal traits are fundamental for life after school and for assisting learners to develop into responsible and contributing members of our society.

16 – 19 Years of Age (±2)

Mainstream Learners.
Learners presenting with so-called ADD/ADHD, Dyslexia, Dyspraxia, Dyscalculia, Asperger’s and mild learning difficulties in need of assisted learning.
Learners in need of a flexible timeline.

We accommodate learners between the ages of 16 and 19 / (21) years of age. We allow for a two year developmental gap when placement is considered – we place a limit of 19 years for enrolment, but will accommodate learners up to the age of 21 years.

We understand that students accomplish goals at their own pace, and therefore we allow additional time and different electives without the need to achieve different levels within a set time frame.

High School Curriculum

Form 1 & 2 – IGCE:

Mathematics, English, Afrikaans, Science, Geography, Art & Design, Computer Science, Business Economics.

Form 3 & 4 – AS/A Levels

Mathematics, English, Afrikaans Electives: Science, Geography, Art & Design, Computer Science, Business Economics.

Form 1 & 2:

We present the core Cambridge IGCSE level subjects with a minimum of two electives to qualify for full IGCSE level qualification. Students pass individual subjects and students wanting to specialise in a particular field without the need to obtain tertiary qualification can do so. External examination opportunities are available twice a year.

  • Cambridge International Examination (CIE)
  • IGCSE Examination

Form 3 & 4:

We continue the subjects offering, with the possibility of obtaining an equivalent National Senior Certificate if subject choice allows for such qualification.

  • AS Qualification (CIE) NSC Equivalency
  • International A-Level (CIE) NSA Equivalency

Curriculum Weight

iDevelop: 15%
Academic: 85%

Although we present a strong academic curriculum (85%), which is very involved and rigorous, we still make time to develop individual students to fully optimise their potential and to become whole rounded individual members of society (15%).
